PEA

Periodically I've been reading Helena's blog http://moralreligion.blogspot.com/ and traveling through her thoughts on religious ethics. The issues she raises truly challenge Western thinking. Though I have no specific comments on a particular post right now, I encourage readers of my blog to check hers out.

Meanwhile my life is forever changed by the wonder of Jacob. Everyday I interact with him I treasure each smile and stare in awe at the way his little mind processes new information. Language acquisition has always astounded me; now that it's my own son learning new words and trying to say them I, well, I shake my head in disbelief.

This morning we read a book that Jacob was obsessed with over the holidays and now it has found it's home in a small stack of books in the kitchen. Early Bird by Richard Scarry has two pages with food and before we arrived at the dinner page Jacob said PEA. He remembered Early Bird and Wiggly Worm's dinner! The book reads "Wiggly Worm at a lot of peas." He pointed to the peas excitedly and said PEA again. Adorable.

Helena made the picture below for me.
